03.01.11 Frank is top of our chart - again!!
Classic crooner Frank Sinatra has reclaimed his number
one position at the top of RWM's most requested artist chart. Radio West Middlesex
counted up requests during the last year leaving last year’s number
one - Elvis Presley, falling to a respectable third place. In the most requested
song chart of 2010, a number of records proved to remain patient favourites.
Luther Vandross’s ‘Dance with My Father’, Matt Monro’s
‘Born Free’ and new entry ‘The Flood ‘ from Take That
all made it into the Top 10.
We collected and played nearly 900 requests.Patients can also enjoy listening
to some new specialist music programmes. Presenter and volunteer Kimi Mamtora
introduces patient requests during ‘Bollywood Mix’ each Wednesday
evening. Kimi says that she is really enjoying presenting her new Wednesday
night request show playing everything from Ghazals, Bhangra beats, devotional
sounds, and instrumentals to the latest in Bollywood film music.

hundreds of times over the year to bring it in at number one once again.

music that the patients at West Mid have and we are really pleased that our
efforts cheer them up during their stay."

15.10.07: Adeline Ran Cardiff in 2.34 !!
A message from Adeline....
"I did it - I ran the Cardiff Half Marathon and crikey - did I ache
last week. I was aiming for 2hours45, I did it in 2.34, so I am really really
chuffed!
The race was really good fun - apart from the last 2 miles, which I REALLY
felt - and the last 500 yards were uphill - which doesn't sound like a lot,
but it really is tough after running nearly 13 miles!
I can't thank you enough for sponsoring me, it really does mean a lot to me,
and the hospital will be delighted too. We raised £325!!
Much much love. Adeline xxx "
